Finding a good Christian-based chapter book is like finding sweet honey from a honeycomb. It’s one of the things Steven and I aim to do when looking for books for our children. Enter the Imagination Station Series by Tyndale’s Focus On The Family.

Adventures in Odyssey

What Is Imagination Station?

The Imagination Station by Marianne Hering is part of the Adventures In Odyssey book line. The newest addition, Islands and Enemies is the 28th book in the Imagination Station series and has sold over 1 million copies.

Every story in the series includes a historically accurate tale that features inspiring Christians found throughout history. Cousins, Patrick, and Beth travel back in time and will go on thrilling adventures of a lifetime that will spark the imagination of children as they read.

In this book, the cousins argue and become angry at each other when Mr. Whit comes up with a solution with an adventure. This adventure takes them on a journey to learn kindness, loyalty, and what it means to be a true friend all from a Christian point of view.

How We Used Imagination Station:

Our 2nd grader read this book in one day! Yes, it was so good that she decided to spend part of her day starting and finishing Islands and Enemies.

Imagination Station Book 28

She thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and has asked us to buy more books from the series. A few days later, she even read the book out loud to her younger brother and sister over the course of several days! So sweet!

My Thoughts On Imagination Station

These books are great. Although our daughter finished this book relatively quickly because she’s an advanced reader, I’d say that this book would great for kids in 2nd or 3rd grade that are new to chapter books. The books are not too long which makes them perfect.

I would recommend these books as great Christian chapter books for kids.
